Lead Service Technician
Positions available in London, Niagara and Kitchener
Type: Full-Time / Seasonal (8-10 months)
Monday to Friday 7:00am to 5:30pm (extended hours may be required)
Wage: $20-$25

Blue Jay is a full-service Irrigation company installing both irrigation and landscape lighting. Our knowledgeable service team is committed to installing top quality products, using the latest technology. Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining a strong positive client experience is at the heart of all that we do.
- The ability to monitor and manage multiple projects utilizing best practices and Blue Jay SOP’s, and KPI’s.
- Maintaining open communication with Customer Care team to ensure a seamless customer experience, ensuring our commitment to quality, workmanship and 100% customer satisfaction.
- Establish and maintain adequate controls to safeguard inventory and minimize handling, storage, and damage.
- Establish and consistently enforce all security procedures.
- Provide leadership to the team, including mentoring the junior technician, ensuring clear guidance regarding, SOP’s, and Blue Jay Values and commitment to our clients.
- Build a strong team, utilizing a coaching approach with a focus on employee development, open communication, respect, and teamwork.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, completion of a preferred degree at an accredited college or university or equivalent an asset
- Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) an asset, however in house training will be provided.
- Experience working outdoors in all weather conditions is required.
- 1-3 years experience in the Irrigation industry is required for a Lead Hand.
- Must possess superior written and verbal communication skills, the ability to build rapport with the whole Blue Jay team and our clients.
- Conduct all interactions and responsibilities in a respectful, professional, and ethical manner.
- Ability to sell, recommended services manage and motivate personnel, work well under pressure and resolve any issues that arise in a respectful, professional, and timely manner.
- Must be a highly organized person who can monitor and manage numerous projects effectively.
- A technical/mechanical proficiency is required (< 24V).
- Experience with scheduling software, experience with Service Titan is an asset.
- Must have the ability to take initiative, and think critically, with strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
- A strong morale compass and ethics.
Working Conditions:
- 10-hour days/ 50-hours a week. Extended schedules may be necessary at times.
- Working outdoors in the elements.
- Extensive travel is required; however, a truck will be provided for job-to-job travel.
- Ability to sit, squat, kneel, stand, walk, or dig for long periods of time.
- Ability to use Full range of body movements, including reaching, crouching and hand dexterity, fine motor skills.
- The candidate must have command of four senses: sight, hearing, touch, and smell.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to lift to 50lbs.
